Saturday Image Bonus 205

Today I went to our favorite flea market for the first time this season. It opened a month early due to the unusually warm winter we had. These images are from a Ladies Home Journal from October 15, 1910. It is a large format magazine so I photographed the cover instead of scanning it. Hopefully it is still clear enough to use.

Saturday Image Bonus 204

I do not usually post images from another site but I had to share this with all you baseball fans.  All of these cards are from a great site I found at the Library of Congress for vintage baseball cards.  It could be so much fun to make a card or collage of some of these images. You can pick your favorite team, city or player and highlight them in a design.  At Digital Two for Tuesday I attempted to make one of them into a digital stamp image.

Some Real Cuties

For Edwina
Here are some cuties wearing hats from the 1985 Delineator.  Not much has changed except the style.  I loved to dress my daughter in hats when she was little.

A few more from the Delineator

Here are a few more of these great ads from the 1895 Delineator.  These magazines are a treasure.  I have been posting digital stamps of these images on Digital Two for Tuesday.

Saturday Image Bonus 202

All of these images are from the ad pages from the 1895 Delineator magazine I have been posting from lately.  There are literally hundreds of amazing images in this one magazine alone.  This sort of illustration is a lost art.

Saturday Image Bonus 200

I can't believe that I am up to 200 Saturday Image posts.  When I started posting vintage images on my blog Paper Flowers in 2007 I never thought it would be so popular.  So popular that I started this blog Clearly Vintage to post my vintage image collection and then of course it morphed into Digital Two for Tuesday.  Yesterday with the help of some of my fellow bloggers I signed up for Pinterest a inboard site and I have started to post already.  Boy this internet stuff is addictive.  It could be a full time job.

I have also been toying with the idea of creating an e book with Apple Ibooks Author using vintage images.  It would be similar to the guest designer concept but in ebook form with tutorials and step by step instructions.  I would need a group of designers who are serious about developing the book.  I am not sure whether to make it a free download or a small fee.  Please let me know what you think and if you are interest in participating let me know in the comments.

Todays images are all from vintage Valentines.  Hopefully I have not posted these before.  Melissa had asked me to try to make digital stamps out of a few of these but I can't seem to get them to work.  There are just to many details.

Pinterest

I have discovered a great new virtual pinboard site called Pinterest.  What is really exciting about Pinterest is you can browse pinboards made by other people.  It is very popular with brides and moms to be.

Black Apple doll- My First Attempt

Sorry I haven't had a chance to post my Saturday Image Bonus today. I've been busy making the cutest little doll called a Black Apple Doll. I found the pattern on the Martha Stewart website. The original designer Emily had a guest appearance on her show and shared the pattern.

My doll is named Maizy. I added some vintage buttons and some vintage lace. The flower in her hair is actually theTim Holtz Sizzix pinecone die. Maizy has already been adopted by my daughter.

Saturday Image Bonus 199

The magazine I have been posting from the last few weeks is filled with beautiful images.  I loved all your comments of how small the waists were and that it did not start with todays models.  Here are a few more images from the 1895 Delineator magazine.  Check out Digital Two for Tuesday for some iron work designs from this same magazine.

Saturday Image Bonus 198

This week I am continuing to post more images from The Delineator Magazine February 1895.  The details in the clothing are amazing.  Someone asked me if  these are hand drawn.  They are originally hand drawn then printed.  Some of them are signed.
