Vintage Valentines Day 1

It is time for my annual vintage countdown to Valentine's Day. Those of you who follow my blog know that I was lucky enough this summer to have a few vendors at the flea market I frequent that know of my site and were collecting paper items to sell to me at a fair price. This came from a large book of vintage postcards that one of the vendors saved for me. There were several hundred postcards in the book. I was in heaven when she handed the book to me. As I know you will be when you see the cards. She said she has a few more books. So hopefully she will bring them to the market when it opens in the spring. As always feel free to use any of the images on my website in your artwork but please do not post or sell the original image on the web in a group or collection. If you use one in a project and post it to your site please link it back to here or leave a comment in the comments section of the image on this site so we can all enjoy. I love to see what you create. That is what inspires me to post and collect more vintage items. Without further ado here are the cards.

SIB 115

Here are some more images from the children's book about Japan form last week. I just adore these images. Each on is so unique and the colors are so vivid for such an old book. I just think the inks they used back then were so much better.

Here is a card I made using one of the images from this week. I hope it inspires you to use the images. I stamped the background with a stamp by Paula Best. For the heart frame I used a Martha Stewart around the page set of punches. The blue paper is embossed using an embossing folder by Cuttlebug.

Best Friends

I was browsing one of the many blogs of my online friends and I happen to see this card. It is a beautiful card made by Melisa Waldorf using my Sweet Peas photopolymer clear stamp set. She had only order the stamps recently so I was surprised to see something using them so quickly. I just love this set. It is so versatile. The set is filled with with 14 images of children, numbers and letters. Sweet Peas and the eight other stamp sets in my line can be purchased at my Etsy shop.

Inspired by the SIB

So I don't know about you but I found this week's SIB very inspirational. Here are two quick cards I created using the images, some new Asian embossing folders by Cuttlebug and various stamps from a small set I got along time ago. The stamps have no markings, but I think they are an All Night Media set.

Saturday Image Bonus 113

Today's images are from a January 1930 Harper's Bazaar. My Harper's are my prize possesions. I just love the images. This one was very hard to scan. I did not want to break the spine so that are not as straight as I would have wanted. I hope you enjoy them anyway.
To my Friends: I have been a little sad lately because I am seeing more and more of my images on other peoples sites in their original form( I know they are mine because when I right click the image they have my titles). I realize that we all save vintage images from other people site and after awhile forget where we got them. I just don't post these original images on my blog . So I thought I should post about it before I get so discouraged that I stop posting vintage images. I would greatly appreciate it if you would direct them to this site for a copy of the image and not post the original on you site. This site is a labor of love. I post these images for artist to use in their artwork and then in return to share with us on this site. I love to collect the images to share with you. I spend every weekend in the spring and summer at Flea Markets searching for the perfect images to post here. Though these are not my original artwork, I do fix and rework each image so they are presentable to post here free of charge. Some of these are very damaged when I buy them. Also if you do happen to see one posted on someone elses site can you please post in their comment section that they can find more images here at Clearly Vintage. Thank you so much to all my loyal followers.

Blog Candy

I have picked a random winner using the number of your comment post. The winner is jcscraphappy #72.....So it has been awhile since I posted some blog candy. Those of you they frequent my other blog Paper Flowers know of my addictions to CuttleBug embossing folders and Martha Stewart border punches. Well about two weeks ago I saw the most amazing package of Asian embossing folders on the Provocraft website and ordered them directly from them. The package arrived last week. I was so excited as they are beautiful and had several Valentine's projects in mind. But much to my dismay I opened the package and they had sent me the wrong folders. They had sent me the Winter bundle. I called and they said this had happened to several people and they would send out the Asian folders but to keep the Winters for my trouble. Well, being the addict I am. I already have these folders. So I am offering them here today as blog candy. Here is how you enter. Leave a message in the comments section telling me what types of vintage images you would like to see on SIB. I will pick a random winner from the comments next Saturday. Good Luck!
