Saturday Image Bonus 74

These images are all from the Nov 1927 Harper's Bazaar magazine. The cover close up(the image with the yellow background) is an Erte. Erte has always been my favorite designers. I was lucky enought to pick up 6 of these magazines at the flea market last summer. Each one has an exquisite cover and loads of magnificent drawings inside. I can't wait to share them with you over the next few weeks. Unfortunately these magazines are bigger than my scanner so I can't scan the whole page.

As always please feel free to copy these images for your own personal use and artwork. Please do not sell the images as part of a collage sheet or digital download. If you use one of the images please post it in the comments section of this post so that we can all enjoy your artwork.

This is an ATC I posted on my other blog for a challenge for TMTA this week. I made this ATC with Elegant for the letter E. The stamps are Clearly Vintage. The lace is antique and the edge was made with an EK Success border punch.

Saturday Image Bonus 73

Well, I don't know about you but I am ready for spring. Usually each year in the winter I start about 10,000 seedlings to plant in the spring. I grow them for my friends and family. This year I have not started any as I start a new job next week and I am not sure how much time I will have to devote to my plants. These pictures are from very old seed catalogues in my stash. Often I imagine someone from a hundred years ago pouring over these catalogues in anticipation of spring here in the USA. These pictures are from 2 Maule Seed catalogues from 1893 and 1922. It is amazing the detail in these works of art. A few of these I had to repair and one I was unable to repair but I thought you would enjoy it anyway. It also looks as if one of the covers was not printed straight.

Saturday Image Bonus 72

In honor of President's Day weekend here in the USA I am posting a few items I have that are Presidential. I searched by stash and the pickings were slim. Most of my items were more historical than Presidential. So here are those few items. The first two trade cards are George and Martha Washington, the first president and his wife. The third card is Grover and Frances Cleveland, the 22 and 24th president and his wife. The last is an actual photo card of Mary Todd Lincoln, wife of Abraham Lincoln the 16th president of the United States. These photos were given out pre postcards as souvenirs. This one looks more like a copy of an artists rendering than a photograph. As always please feel free to copy these trade cards and photos for your own personal use and artwork. Please do not sell the images as part of a collage sheet or digital download. If you use one of the images please post it in the comments section of this post so that we can all enjoy your artwork.

Native American

Introducing the last set for Spring 2009. It is called Native American. It is a 6"x8" clear photo polymer set. There are 17 different stamps. All the images originated from vintage images and then were altered to make an image suitable for stamping. The images represent several different Native American tribes. Though, I am not sure whether illustrators from the early 1900's strived for authenticity. The cost will be $24.00. All the sets will be available March 1, 2009. See all the new sets here.

Two Little Indian Cards

These cards include two stamps from my new Native American set. The details are amazing on this set of stamps. I have tried to keep the sample cards fairly simple so you can see the images. I have approved the prove sets and the manufacturer has told me to expect my stamps the last week of February. So everything is right on schedule. You can expect to see these in my Etsy shop soon. If you would like to preorder anything let me know as supplies will be limited.

Native American Sneak Peek

So those of you who follow my blog know I have one more stamp set I am showing sneak peeks of this week called Native American. It is a 6"x8" set. The images are from various vintage sources and include different tribes. I used three of the images on this tag. I am hoping to finalize the order tomorrow and expect the stamps in about two weeks.

Vintage Valentine Day 8

Here are three trade cards from the 1880's. Each one pictures a couple together enjoying each others company. These are advertising thread from a company called JP Coats. They combined with Clark thread to form Coats and Clark which still exists today. As always please feel free to copy these trade cards for your own personal use and artwork. Please do not sell the images as part of a collage sheet or digital download. If you use one of the images please post it in the comments section of this post so that we can all enjoy your artwork.

Motif Stamp Set

This is the complete Motif stamp set due out at the end of the month. I have been posting samples of this set for last few days. It is a 6x8 inch clear stamp set. There are 14 images. These are great to use for bases of cards and accents. It will be priced at $24.00. What I love the most about this set is that since they are clear it is very easy to make a design as large as you want by repeat stamping.
If you are interested in pre ordering any of the 6 sets I have previewed so far please contact me.
I should receive the proofs for the last set called Native American tomorrow. I will post a few samples. It is a wonderful 6x8 set filled with vintage Native American images from the early 1900's. This will be the last of the new sets.

Vintage Valentine Day 6

Here are four cupid trade cards from Mme. Demorest Reliable Patterns. I love all the quotes on the bottom of the cards. Enjoy these cuties.

I colored the image with Copic markers.

Sneak Preview Motif Stamp Set

So here are a few sneak previews of another set of stamps called Motif. Motif is a 6x8 inch set. It is designed to use for backgrounds and card bases. What is so great about this set is that because it is clear you can make infinite borders and patterns. I had so much fun designing the previous four sets that I have added three more Motif, Greetings and Native American. I am still waiting for the proof sets of Native American, so you will have to wait to see it. Hopefully, for those of you that have preordered this will not hold things up at the manufacturers too much.
I used Distress Inks by Ranger to create these two samples. I love the slight beading of the ink with Distress Inks. It creates an old time feeling.

Vintage Valentine Day 4

Today, I have three old postcards from 1912. The next few days I will be posting valentine's from an old scrapbook I found filled with them at the Flea Market. I sure miss the Flea Market in the winter. There is snow on the ground right now. So it would be awfully cold if they had it in the winter. Anyway, as you can see I have quite the stash of vintage valentine's. Next weekend, I will post a few trade cards with presidential images in honor of President's Day in the USA.
As always please feel free to copy these postcards for your own personal use and artwork. Please do not sell the images as part of a collage sheet or digital download. If you use one of the images please post it in the comments section of this post so that we can all enjoy your artwork.
