Farm Fresh Idea by Dana

Saturday Image Bonus 101

First things first. I hope you will take the time this weekend to participate in the Journals of Love challenge. See posts below. Besides being a great project and a wonderful charitable thing to do, you will be eligible to win a set of Clearly Vintage stamps. On Sunday night we will randomly pick three participants to receive the stamp set of their choice.

Here are several pages from a children's book of rhymes. They are loose pages and the vendor wanted a lot of money for each page but they are so cute and I just love the vibrant colors. I thought they would be great in a frame as a baby shower present. Perhaps a series of three. I will be posting more of these next week. I have the pages scanned at a higher dpi but did not post that here as it would take up to much room, so if you are putting them in a frame and you need a better resolution let me know and I will try to send it to you.

Halloween Charm Bracelet

Here is a bracelet I made using the Halloween postcards I have been posting. I printed them in index size on my picturemate printer. The photos are water resistant. I got the charms from Sugarbeads and then I covered the image with Diamond Glaze after placing it in the frame. I made one for me and a smaller one for my daughter. If the sun ever comes out I will take a better photo later.

Sunday Challenge - Journals of Love for Cancer Patients

So as always, I meet the most wonderful people online. A few weeks ago Shirley posted that she and her nephew were going to be using images from the Digital Two for Tuesday Site on composition books that she alters and then gives to her local cancer patient unit. The patients use these as journals to keep track of their hectic lives in their battle to fight this horrible disease. They can use it to write down info the doctor has told them, meds or even their thought and hopes. It is a record of their journey. I thought what a wonderful opportunity for us to use our artwork for a good cause and thus the Jounals of Love challenge was created. So here is the challenge. Make one or more journals using images posted on Clearly Vintage or Digital Two for Tuesday for Shirley to send to the Cancer Unit. You can use a composition book like the journals below, or a bind it all to make your own book or anyway you have to bind your journal. You can add a bookmark or a pocket to your book. Whatever you wish. They can be as simple or intricate as you like. Here is the information about the hospital where we will be donating them. Shall you choose to take our challenge, you will be doing an extreme mitzvah ( a good deed). I have been taught that the best good deeds for someone you do not know . Also you will be put in a random drawing for a chance to win one of my Clearly Vintage Stamp sets. There will be three winners. As an added bonus, everyone that enters will have their journal posted onto the Digital Two for Tuesday or Clearly Vintage site. I hope you all will join this exciting challenge and pass the word to make it a success. I will post the address of where to send the books later this week. Saturday Image Bonus 100

Wow, one hundred posts. I have been posting the Saturday Image Bonus for over 2 years. Time flies and I have love searching flea markets and eBay for images to share with you. It is definitely a labor of love to repair the images and scan them for all of you. In honor of the 100th post I will be having a challenge contest for charity in conjunction with my other site Digital Two for Tuesday starting Sunday. So be sure to check back tomorrow.

The images this week are from an old pattern flyer from the late 60"s from McCall's. I just love the hats and funky clothes. I removed the words and pattern numbers to make the images more usable.
