Saturday Image Bonus 156

Today we have a beautiful group of victorian trade cards from the late 1800's portraying kitty cats.  Some are adorable and some are humerous.  So take the time to read the captions. As always feel free to use any of the images on my website in your artwork but please do not post or sell the original image on the web in a group or collection or alone. Saturday Image Bonus 155 - 1942 Fashions

In my survey a few weeks ago several of you said you wanted to see more vintage fashions. This week we have several pages from a 1942 pattern catalogue by Marian Martin.  After scanning from my catalogue I did a little research about this catalogue and found another website with lots of scanned images from other Marian Martin Pattern books.  Be sure to poke around this page as on the bottom of the page they have 200 scanned pages from other Marian Martin books.  Also be sure to check back on Sunday for a few more images from my catalogue.

A Few Moustached Men

Here are a few moustached men for Juliet.  I posted these before a long time ago.  Unfortunately, I do not have a lot of vintage men's images.  Most of the men's magazine pre 1920 do not have many men's pictures.  So here are a few cabinet cards from my collection.  Below is a project I made using a copy of one of the photos.

Saturday Image Bonus 153

Today and tomorrow I will be posting illustrations of Little Red Riding Hood from various books from the early 1900's.  This is from a request I received a few weeks ago from a follower in France.  I just so happens I have four books with the story of Little Red Riding Hood in them.  I will be posting the color illustrations here and the lined drawings at my digital stamp site Digital Two for Tuesday.  So be sure to check there for more fun images.

Saturday Image Bonus 152

Happy New Year everyone! The Holiday Image Bonus is over and the posts have been deleted.  I will post new images and some of the old next Christmas season.  In the mean time I am back posting assorted vintage images every Saturday for your enjoyment.  In honor of New Year please post a comment with what type of images you would like to see.  Most of my collection is from 1850 - 1930 so keep that in mind.  I will start posting images from your comments next week.  I can't wait to see what you request!

This week the images are from a November 1911 McCall's magazine.  I have chosen a variety of images including advertisements.  I adore the styles from this period though the corsets look a little uncomfortable.  Sometimes I can't even stand an under wire bra.  Imagine a full torso corset.  How woman suffer for that perfect figure.  I will try to post a few more of these precious images tommorow so check back.
