These collages of my dad as a boy were made for a birthday one year.
Their engagement annoucement. I made this collage for their 55th.
He was in love with my mom the first day they met.
I thank you all for your prayers for my dad but he passed yesterday morning. He and my mom had been together for 59 years. We are all doing ok. I guess I am still in shock as it is hard to believe that he is gone. My dad was one of those incredible people who knew a little bit about every subject. He was always learning new things and had an incredible love of books. My dad Iz Ungar was a polymer chemist and even after he retired he worked until he was 79 travelling worldwide consulting. He had over 50 US Patents to his name and 100 international patents.
Thank you all for your words of comfort. It is great to konw there are so many friends out there.

My condolences. Sorry to here about the loss of your DAD. I know how it effected me when I lost my Dad, which is now 20 years ago. There isn't a day that goes past i don't think of him in one way or another. Blessings Hilde

My deepest sympahies to you and your family and all who loved your father.I lost my father 6 years ago...my mother had died 5 yrs before that and they had been married for 65 yrs. Oh, bless your heart! There are few things in life that will impact you the way this will, and I wish there were something I could say to make you feel better. I can tell you definitively that you should not worry that he will "go" away from you. I am very happy to tell you that he will always be with you, and it is such a comfort. It's been 12 years for me, and Daddy is still here!
So sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. It is a blessing to hold on to the dear sweet memories they leave us. I really feel that that generation was very special in a lot of ways. Lean on the Lord and he will give you strength when you need it and comfort when the tears come. Hugs and prayers for you and your family.

Cora, my condolences go to you and your family. Your Dad sounds a lot like my late Father-in-Law. He too was always learning new things and even up until his death at age 87, he was teaching himself how to use a computer.
Your Dad may not be with you in person but he has moved to a special place in your heart where he will always be.
